What we do…
Te Ora Hou provide mentoring for young people in our communities, work with their whanau and support positive community development initiatives.
Te Ora Hou centres lead a number of innovative projects and services including:
- mentoring programmes for young people and support for their families
- a school for teenage mothers and early childhood education for their tamariki
- wrap-around support services for young people at-risk of committing offences
- after-school / home-work clubs
- outdoor adventure programmes
- national hui for young people
- national training programmes and networking events for youth workers
- international exchanges with other indigenous young people
- community development initiatives in developing countries
